DEAR BAYSIDE COACHES (JAN. 14, 2024 edition):
- You will receive the entry link that will allow you to enter your Coed AND Girls team members into the same tournament for the Bayside Championships about 10 days before the tournament.
- This year’s tournament is returning to Stephen Decatur HS. Next year will be at Kent Island HS.
- The coaches’ seeding meeting is confirmed for Mardela’s media center at 12 pm on Sunday, Feb. 11. That's where we held it last year for the convenience of our northern Bayside coaches so we're doing it again this year.
- Teams will be restricted to one entry per weight class in the Coed tournament but will be allowed multiple entries in the Girls tournament. That's straight from Mike Duffy, the MPSSAA director of the state championship tournament. No, I'm not sure why there's a difference, but it's confirmed by the MPSSAA. If you need to add an extra Girl wrestler into their division, click on Add Wrestler when entering wrestlers and be sure to pick the Girls' weight class for the Girl. Again, ONE PER TEAM in Coed. Any questions, email me.
- The new MPSSAA Regional Seeding form from last year is available at https://www.mpssaa.org/state-championships/wrestling/wrestling-forms-page/
- Be sure to watch the video at the top of the list of forms to learn how to use the new form. You only have to enter your schedule and tournament info (like date and opponent school for duals) one time for it to show up for all weight classes! I am more than happy to help any coach who needs any help (or reassurance you are doing it correctly) to complete the form.
- Please have point totals and complete records for all entered wrestlers available for discussion at the seeding meeting on Feb. 11 at Mardela. That includes all Girls wrestlers, as there will be a separate seeding meeting directly after the Coed seeding meeting on Feb. 11.
- The Bayside Conference Coed & Girls Wrestling Championships will be a one-day tournament on Feb. 17th at Stephen Decatur HS (9913 Seahawk Rd, Berlin, MD 21811)
- Weigh-in for Coed and Girls will be at 9 am. All teams should be weighed in by 9:45 am, coaches' meeting at 9:45 and wrestling at 10 am. PLEASE BE ON TIME! If we have all teams there and weighed in by 9:45 am, we'll be able to start on time at 10 am.
- Coaches’ meeting will be at 9:45 am. Paper brackets WILL NOT be made for coaches unless requested after Round 1 begins. It's all on Track.
- Brackets will be available on TrackWrestling and copies will be posted in the SDHS gymnasium. A QR code will be posted to scan will help wrestlers, coaches and fans to access the site easily or they can directly go to https://bit.ly/2024Baysides. Again, both Coed and Girls tournaments will be on the same Track tournament site.
- Schedule is available at https://baysidewrestling.weebly.com/schedule.html
- Wrestling begins with the Coed Round of 16 at 10am. Girls are slated to start wrestling with the Championship Quarterfinals, scheduled for 10:45 am. All rounds will begin immediately after the conclusion of the previous round or 30 minutes after the start of the previous round if that round ends within 30 minutes.
- Girls brackets will be small - some possibly as small as 4 girls. Since they are being seeded, we will use the same double elimination format as Coed. We will wrestle their rounds as needed within the schedule on Mat 4 with exceptions noted in the schedule. Girls matches will be wrestled in the main gym except for 3rd and 7th place.
- Coed & Girls Finals will be wrestled at the end of the tournament on the 2 mats in the main gym. 3rd place for Coed and Girls will be wrestled on Mats 3 & 4 in the cafeteria without break. Awards will be handed out after the final of subsequent weight class on a podium in the hallway just outside the gym to allow for plenty of time for photos, etc. Both wrestlers in the Consolation Finals (3rd place) match should report to the awards area after their matches so we can give awards promptly when Championship Finals weight classes conclude.
- We plan on being done no later than 7 pm.
- ANY QUESTIONS, please email Bill Duck at [email protected] or text me at 410-603-2596

Enter the wrestler’s name, etc., in the Participant Info menu (it will say EDIT PARTICIPANT at top)
If you don’t have a wrestler at a weight class, simply click click Delete on the Participant Info screen for that weight class entrant at the bottom right (you can see the Delete button in the image above). If you have a wrestler in a weight class, just click on Unknown, Unkown for that wait class and replace Unknown with your wrestler's first and do the same for last name, year of graduation, and wins and losses. Make sure the school and weight class is correct. Click Save.
Track will now automatically take you to Criteria Values to enter your wrestler’s Regional Points.
You will be asked to re-enter Season Wins and Season Winning percentage. And choose YES for “Has had 1 match(es) towards Season Record:” Also, be sure to enter the number of Bayside dual meet wins. Do not include tournaments or any non -Bayside teams in this total. And make sure to click Save Participant Information at the bottom of this screen!

Repeat this process for each weight class, deleting wrestlers where you don't have an entry (or just let me do it) and entering ALL needed info for weight classes you do.
If you have more than one Girl to enter in a weight class, you can either click Add Participant and add the wrestler (be sure to pick the right weight class!) or just email me at [email protected] .
Any questions, email me at [email protected] - I'd rather spend 5-10 minutes helping you get it right now than not have what we need at the seeding meeting.
